Name: Aurora
Affinity: Air (that seems to be the most sky/star-like?)
Race: Mountain Dweller
Occupation: Star reader; this involves fortune-telling and predictions about the future based on the alignment of constellations and planets, as well as the weather for more short-term predictions. She spends so much time looking at the sky, she's rarely surprised by weather changes.
Allegiance: Undecided at this point, Aurora needs to find out more about what each side wishes to do and how it will affect her.
Abilities: Excellent at navigation, especially on cloudless nights due to her knowledge of the stars. Also good at surviving in the wilderness because she has grown up in a remote location.
Personality: Often quiet and dreamy-eyed, she sometimes says things that don't make sense in the middle of a conversation, but eventually turn out to be astute observations. She's good at reading people, even when they try to hide things. This can make others uneasy and she sometimes has difficulty making friends because she unintentionally upsets people who have secrets or wish to keep something private. The people who do stick around to become her friend know she's loyal and does not share the secrets she discovers. She doesn't like crowds or cities, preferring solitude and quiet so that she can ponder and watch the sky. She never finds silences awkward even when others do, and somehow this makes silences even more awkward for anyone who doesn't know her well. She often seems oblivious or aloof. When making decisions, she usually spends a lot of time thinking before acting.
History: Aurora's mother died when she was 13, and it was very hard on her father. She helped him through his grief, and in return he taught her the hunting and survival skills he had learned from living in the mountains. Aurora did not have any siblings or children near her, so she learned to get along with the few adults within walking distance of the cabin she lived in with her father. An old woman a few miles away introduced Aurora to star-gazing at a young age and taught her everything she knew, having recognized a talent in Aurora. One night, the old woman was attacked and her home was ransacked. When Aurora showed up for a visit two days later, she found the woman dying. Aurora made her comfortable and promised to care for the old book of constellations the woman bestowed upon her. She also made another promise, but she hasn't shared it with anyone. Soon after, Aurora's father fell ill. Knowing he would soon die, he told Aurora that she must find some other people; it wasn't good for her to be alone without family and friends. He died peacefully in his sleep, feeling accomplished and loved thanks to his daughter. Now Aurora is feeling restless, not wanting to stay in the cabin to be alone in grief.
